Blue heart - for Valentines Day

Hi everyone, I'm Deb, and it's my turn to post my Men's project as part of the new WOW! Embossing Design Team.  This is a Valentine's card for anyone who likes their cards with a twist - my hubby to a 'T'!

So the front of the card is fairly simple, patterned paper matted onto mirror board before layering onto the front of an A5 card.

There are 3 hearts of decreasing size mounted on the front of the card using glue gel on top of foam tape, so they appear to 'float' on the front of the card - I really like the shadow effect that is achieved by raising the heart up, but not so great for postage!

The big heart is stamped using With Love and the small Heart from the 'How Does Your Garden Grow' WOW! clear stamp set and Platinum Embossing Powder

The inside of the card is a pop out aperture, with a rotating sparkly heart, just for fun!

The pop out is made using another A5 card blank, with the Heart aperture cut on the centre mountain fold, (keep the heart cut out and use it for the front of the card) Then the card is creased as for a gatefold card, with valley folds.

Stamp and emboss random small Hearts and With Love over the 2 centre panels of the aperture card, using the 'How Does Your Garden Grow' WOW! clear stamp set and Platinum Embossing Powder as on the front of the card.

Cut 2 hearts smaller than the aperture heart, cover each with embossing ink and emboss one with Blue Glitz WOW! Embossing Powder, and the other with Blue Blast WOW! Embossing powder - this gives a great 2-tone effect as the hearts rotate.

Fix a length of cotton between the hearts and sandwich them together, then fix the end of the cotton above and behind the aperture, using double sided tape, so that the heart hangs and rotates freely in the aperture.

Patterned paper is fixed to the inside of the outer card blank, but only attached at the centre fold, so that the card can open and close without tearing the paper.

Apply double sided tape to the 2 outer panels of the aperture card, and fix in place inside the main card.

Finish the card by cutting panels of patterned paper, matting onto mirror board, and fixing them to the 2 outer panels of the inner card - and voila! A card to entertain and make you smile.......

Happy crafting!
